“Many people have said that ‘painting is dead.’  We have movies, the internet, books, and television.  What role can painting play, in an over-filled media world?  Well, this is not a new problem.  The Impressionists were originally concerned that mechanical reproduction – cameras – would take away their jobs, and peoples’ interest in painting.

So they decided to create new colors, new scenes which no camera could ever capture.  Can anyone say that they failed?

Contemporary artists compete against the media every day, but human creativity is inexhaustible.  What a camera lens can capture – that is not inexhaustible.  It is limited.”

“There no limits in expansion.”
